Ultimo: The Highstakes Card based TTRPG

Ultimo is a new TTRPG system. It is setting agnostic, but I'm currently working on a core rule book for the first campaign setting a dark fantasy kingdom building setting called Kings of the Heartland. 

This free version is an easy to play card game that has a lot of depth for those who like crunchy rules.

The system's highlights are:

Free Form Character Creation. In this system of classless characters your skills and attributes define you. Make characters as mundane as a mild mannered book keeper, or as wild as a sports drink chugging frog man with a magic sword.

Deadly Combat. Even the toughest sum bitches can be brought down quickly in a fight so protect yourself! Fight with your friends to survive or run!

Cards Instead of Dice. Use your hand to assure victory  or save your good cards for a critical moment. The game aims to give the player more control  over the results of their actions.

Story Based. This is a narrative focused system. The gamemaster and the players craft a narrative and shape a world together.

Optional Tactical Rules. For people who prefer a war game for combat there are optional rules for miniature combat.
